Returns & refund policy
Maatru Rasah® accepts returns on damaged, expired, or incorrect items within 24 hours of delivery. We do not accept returns on opened or used food products — this is a standard FSSAI regulation that applies to every food brand in India, not a policy we chose for our convenience.
If something is not right with your order, write to us first. Most issues are faster to resolve over email than through a formal return process.
Order cancellation
Once an order is confirmed and payment is processed, we cannot accept a cancellation. Here is why: our kitchen begins preparing your order immediately after confirmation. Achaar is packed from the barni, sweets are made fresh, spices are weighed and sealed. By the time a cancellation request arrives, the order is usually already in motion.
Please review your order carefully before confirming. If you made an error — wrong address, wrong product — write to care@maatrurasah.com or WhatsApp +91 9211968777 within 1 hour of placing the order. We will do our best to catch it before dispatch, but we cannot guarantee it. Check shipping-delivery-policy
What is eligible for return or replacement
We will replace or refund under three conditions only.
Damaged product If your order arrives with a broken jar, leaked contents, or crushed packaging, notify us within 24 hours of delivery. Send one photograph of the damaged product and one photograph of the outer packaging to care@maatrurasah.com or WhatsApp +91 9211968777. Include your order number. We will arrange a replacement or full refund and cover the return shipping cost.
In shipments with multiple items, only the damaged item is considered — not the full order.
Wrong item sent If we sent you the wrong product, notify us within 24 hours of delivery with a photograph of what you received. We will ship the correct item and cover all return and re-shipping costs.
Spoiled product If a sealed, unopened product appears spoiled on arrival — abnormal smell, visible mould, discolouration inconsistent with the product description — notify us within 48 hours of delivery. Send a photograph of the product alongside the packaging date visible on the label. We will investigate and replace if the spoilage is confirmed as a production issue.
We do not accept spoilage claims based on taste, texture, colour, or aroma variation. Our achaar, spices, and sweets are made by hand without artificial preservatives. Natural variation between batches is not spoilage — it is what hand-made food looks and tastes like.
What is not eligible for return
We cannot accept returns on opened or used food products. Once a jar is opened, the product cannot be resold or verified for safety under FSSAI regulations. This applies to every food brand in India, including us.
If you dislike a flavour, we would rather hear it as feedback than process a return. Write to us and describe what you expected versus what you received. Most flavour disappointments come from an expectation we could have corrected before you ordered. We will help you find something that suits your palate on the next order.
Refund process
Refunds are processed within 7 business days of return confirmation, back to your original payment method. We will confirm the return by email before processing begins. If you have not received your refund within 7 business days of that confirmation, write to us.
Return shipping costs for damaged or incorrect items are covered by Maatru Rasah. Original postage charges are not refunded.
